Is The Liquid of Life Really Just...Water?
We know that water is good for us but how does it benefit the body? The advantages of drinking water go even deeper than just hydrating our bodies. A few of these effects include an increase in energy levels, flushing out toxins, maintaining regularity, and even promoting weight loss!
The Brain, Heart, and Lungs all work together to keep us alive. And did you know they’re made up of over 50% water? What’s even more shocking is that up to 60% of the human adult body is made up of water! I mean WOW, isn’t that awesome! Consuming enough water each day isn’t just beneficial for our bodies… It's necessary. It’s crucial to intake the proper amount of water every day especially for anyone trying to lose weight! In general, you should try and consume at least 6-8, 8 oz glasses of water each day. Now everyone knows the dangers of dehydration but many people are unaware of what can happen if you consume too much water. When a person is overhydrated, the body may begin to swell or discoloration can transpire in the hands, feet, and lips. This happens because our cells start to bloat, making the rest of our body feel these uncomfortable effects. A study report showed that dangerous hyponatremia symptoms can develop if a person drinks 3–4 liters of water in a short period.
A common misconception about dehydration has to do with mistaking thirst for hunger which may lead to unnecessary weight gain. Now if you’re human, this has happened to you. There are many times I personally feel like my body is missing something and the solution most often leads to curing this void with food when in reality, water is what my body is craving! Obviously, when we drink water, the liquid takes up space in our stomach which leads to feeling more full and may reduce cravings, and can actually curb our appetite. Water has the amazing ability to regulate your body’s temperature and lubricates your joints to help your body perform and burn fat at its highest level. It’s important to drink water before and after workouts, especially when performing High Intensity or SIT workouts because the increase in the amount of sweat your body produces, increases the amount of fluid that is lost.. even if it’s just a couple minutes of exercise!! Because remember if you’re looking to lose weight fast 7 minutes is all you need! This is exactly why I created my One and Done program!! It’s a one-of-a-kind missing-something program built to help you slim down, tone up, and build lean, sexy muscle!
Fun fact: Lean muscle tissue contains 75% water, so when the body is low on water, it is easier for muscles to become fatigued. Not only does H2O prevent fatigue, but it also keeps you regular. It helps the body digest food and keeps food waste moving through it.
