Tips and Tricks to a Healthy Lifestyle
Another day, another blog!!
Except this time around, I’ll be telling you some common mistakes that are easily made about exercise, and a healthy lifestyle.
Let’s start this off by saying, grasping a healthy lifestyle is in no way easy, but it is doable with the right motivation and determination for a change. BUT, people often forget that it is a journey. When it comes to changing your life, it’s a marathon not a sprint. It takes time, but in the end it’s worth every doubt, every sweat, and every “keep going!”
A huge common mistake that I see made everyday is listening to the internet, magazines, and books. The world we live in today, creates unrealistic expectations, and the hope that you can lose all your desired weight in one week. However, everyone fails to mention that each body is different, and all of our bodies react differently. It may work, but not all of us are on the same timeline of achieving the goals that we want, and it’s also not healthy. In my last blog, I talked about our bodies being a temple, a temple that needs to be taken care of HEALTHILY, so start by finding a program, or routine that you feel is doable, and makes you confident! Adjusting to your own personal ability is crucial to your success! That’s why I made sure my One and Done program is equipped with multiple levels so it can be done by anyone despite age, previous injury, or fitness level, you can check it out here.
Another mistake I commonly see has to do with goal setting. Create small, achievable goals that don’t necessarily have to do with the inches or pounds you’ve lost. A small goal could be your increase in length or level of intensity or it could be doing a movement that you had to modify, properly without modifications. Each goal, that you create and hit, is a HUGE goal!! And definitely something you should be proud of, because small goals, lead to big goals, and all the goals you’ve achieved in combination will lead to you achieving what you were aiming for!
The second misleading mistake, not drinking enough water. The average person should be drinking 6-8, 8oz glasses of water every day. Yet, many of us barely drink three! Studies have shown dehydration is one of the largest causes to stalled healing, mental sharpness, and endurance. And that’s not even all the negative effects of dehydration! Caffeine, alcohol, and some supplements can also play a factor into dehydration, so if you are a daily cup of coffee type of person, try drinking a glass of water before or after your nice cup of joe!
While these two are huge factors when it comes to a healthy lifestyle there are so many more. For instance, running is a popular way people have found as a beginning to their weightloss journey, but what people don’t realize is that too much of a good thing can be too much. A study has shown that excessive running may cause heart problems, oxidative stress, and more! While running is not for everyone, and some may not be able to relate, ignoring bone and joint health with any fitness routine is another mistake that is often made! When one puts too much stress on their muscles, while ignoring their joint and bone health, it may lead to serious pain in areas of your body. It’s recommended, to make sure you are taking care of all areas of your body, that you receive proper nutrients, stretch, and avoid workouts that may be high impact for you!!
I recommend a low impact workout, like my One and Done program!! It only takes 7 minutes, is low impact, and can help strengthen your body! As well as a balanced nutrition plan, if you’re looking for an awesome way to get your nutrition balanced, and completely laid out for you, check out my MetaBoost program!! It’s an awesome nutrition plan to help balance hormones, aid digestion, and reduce inflammation!
I can’t guarantee that making small changes will change your whole journey, and will make you shred weight like crazy, but I can guarantee you, that these small changes will benefit you not only physically but mentally, and not just now but in the long run!! These small changes are only meant to benefit you, not hurt you!! Make sure you are achieving your goals in a healthy and safe way!!
